Proverbs 3:13-15

"How blessed is the man who finds wisdom And the man who gains understanding. For her profit is better than the profit of silver And her gain better than fine gold. She is more precious than jewels; And nothing you desire compares with her.".

Today we look at a proverb that alludes to salvation. Throughout the book of Proverbs, and the entire Bible for that matter; wisdom, when used in a spiritual sense is indicative of things that relate to salvation. In turn, true spiritual wisdom can only be attained by the grace of God. Job in Divine inspiration also spoke of how hard the search for wisdom is:

"But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding? Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living. The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me. It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof. It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire. The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold. No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies. The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold." (Job 28:12-19).

The desire to attain spiritual wisdom will be manifest in the child of God by a continual ongoing desire to learn and do God's will. The Bible also tells us that who who receive God's spritual wisdom through His grace will be abundantly blessed with the gift if attaining more spiritual wisdom. This is why Christians must always stay close to the Word and not stray. In Matthew 25 we read:

"For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath." (Matthew 25:19).
