Quiet Earth Fellowservants of Christ

Proverbs 11:19

"As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.".

Today we look at a proverb that compares the fate of those who practice righteousness with those who pursue evil. The righteousness in a true child of God is a result of Christ given grace; in turn this lead to true holiness and happiness in our LORD Jesus Christ. The righteous nature of those who do God's will will lead their soul to eternal life in heaven.

"Then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by requiting the wicked, by recompensing his way upon his own head; and by justifying the righteous, by giving him according to his righteousness." (2 Chronicles 6:23).

As those who pursue goodness will be rewarded by our LORD, so too are those who pursue evil setting themselves up for their own destruction. The more one turns from Christ to pursue the things of this world, the more they only hasten their demise. Unfortunately, there are many, if not some who believe that God will not punish evildoers. However, our LORD is true to His Word, true is His very name and essence and His Word tells us that. In Nahum 1 we read:

"The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet." (Nahum 1:3).
