Today we look at a proverb that relates to the sending forth of the gospel. He that speaketh truth is a spiritual picture of a true child of God, one of His people that Christ saved from sin. A false witness is a false prophet. We know this by comparing verse with verse as we read
"When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." (Acts 1:6-8).
All true believers are commissioned to go forth into all the world with the good news of the gospel. Witnessing must be done as prescribed in the Bible; however and that is by using it as our source of guidance, alone and in its entirety. There are certain guidlines God gives us to follow as we bring the Word to the world. Therefore let us continually pray that we may be truthful as we minister under the ambassadorship of His holy name
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2 Corinthians 5:17-21).
