Quiet Earth Fellowservants of Christ

Proverbs 12:25

"Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.".

Here we read a proverb that points to salvation. The first part of the proverb tells us that an anxiety in one's heart weighs it down. This is spiritual anxiety as one waits upon the LORD for salvation. The Bible tells us often that when seeking mercy one must quietly and patiently wait upon the LORD to see that if by His mercy He would have compassion:

"Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." (Philippians 4:4-8).

The second half of the proverb identifies with salvation in that the good word that makes a person saved is altogether the LORD Jesus Christ. He is the good Word to mankind, the very essence of the written Word, the gospel to mankind. As Christians we can knoiw for a fact that we are saved and this is a tremendous comfort. Surely God helps His servants! :

"The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me. Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up. Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God." (Isaiah 50:4-10).
