Quiet Earth Fellowservants of Christ

Proverbs 27:17

"Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.".

Here we have a proverb that relates to fellowship with other believers in the LORD. There are many, many places where the Bible instructs us to encourage, exhort, lift up, love and shapen others in the faith. The body of Christ is made up of all of His children; we are all family and are commanded by the LORD to comfort and bear each others burdens. Perhaps there is no greater way to sharpen another than by loving them and praying for the very best for them in life:

Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. - 1 John 4:11,12.

The world is only a temporary abode for us. It is sin-cursed and its materialistic lusts are passing away. Often it is a difficult place for a servant of Christ to live in and that is why fellowship with others in Christ is so important. Therefore let us strive to love one another as Christ loved us and gave His life for us; this is a commandment of our LORD from the beginning:

And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. - 2 John 5.
